As a WESA member, you are hereby invited to meet Lead wind energy specialist, Nicolai Gayle Nygaard and Senior manager, Jesper Skov Gretlund, when they talk about their work in the world’s leading offshore wind company, DONG Energy. Furthermore, you are given the opportunity to show your own analytical skills by solving a real-life case.
Data is crucial to understand the flow phenomena of a wind farm. From the East Coast of the UK, two radars scan DONG Energy’s wind farm Westermost Rough, at a volume enclosing the wind farm with a revisit time of approximately one minute. These radars provide engineers at DONG Energy with big data, which are used for analyzing and measuring the flow of the wind through and around the wind farm. However, interpreted and leveraged optimally, engineers at DONG Energy see a huge untapped potential for utilizing the data even further.
