An impactful group. That’s what comes to mind when seeing the gathering of the Danish Wind Industry at DWIA’s annual event, Wind Energy Denmark. This year’s event took place on Tuesday, 1st October 2019 in Herning and even saw participation from some sprightly students from the Wind Energy Student Association (WESA) at DTU.
A few WESA members share their experiences below:

The opportunity that DWIA gave us to attend Wind Energy Denmark 2019 has been very fulfilling. Personally, I wanted to go there to find some inspiration in order to choose a good topic for my master thesis and to see what possibilities I have in the industry and the conference really helped and guided me in these matters. I’m glad I could attend speeches where I learned about the latest news about wind energy and overall the experience was very gratifying.

Attending Wind Energy Denmark has been a great experience. As a new wind energy student, this has been the perfect opportunity to dive deeper into the industry, meet interesting people and get inspiration for my studies. I am looking forward to attending again next year and seeing how this thrilling field of engineering develops.
The picture is with the representatives from Nabrawind, a Spanish company. It was nice seeing my own country show up there.

I think participating in such a conference like Wind Energy Denmark gave me a bright perspective about the current industrial issues so I can well invest my time and effort to solve the current issues. Also it gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of people who are working in the same field and that was a super nice event for networking.

I had a really rewarding experience at Wind Energy Denmark. The conference sessions were really diverse with many important speakers and it was possible to easily talk to the people attending the event. I felt really inspired and motivated by the talks and the discussions I had there, and I am grateful for this opportunity.

I was delighted to hear that I got a ticket from DWIA through the Wind Energy Student Association and would be able to participate in this highly scientific gathering. The topics discussed among the attendants, the blending of industry and academia among with the broader realization of the verticality of the sector makes a student more determined and wiser for his future career. This is what Wind Energy Denmark was about.

Everything that happens in Wind Energy here in Denmark has great impact on the rest of the world too. It was great to hear from those at the forefront of this industry at Wind Energy Denmark. After steep technological advancements over the past years, it was great to see fresh ideas still being put forward and with a sense of collaboration. I enjoyed the presentations from the Innovation Corner as well as the sessions on standardization, upscaling and results from the Megavind research group.
I also had a fun time playing the CO2 Neutral board game by LM Windpower. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the event.
